По народным поверьям он приносит подарки на Рождество, помогает путникам и защищает обездоленных. Где-то его зовут Санта-Клаус, где-то Баббо Натале, где-то Синтерклаас. Николай Чудотворец никогда не бывал в России, однако в нашей стране он даже более почитаем, чем в католическом мире. Это история о феномене святого Николая в России, больше известного у нас как Николай-угодник или просто – Чудотворец.
Действие фильма происходит в трех странах. Одна из них – Америка. Потому что знаменитый на весь мир Санта-Клаус тоже – святой Николай. Чтобы собрать исторический пазл духовного пути святого Николая, съемочная группа побывала в гостях у национального Санта-Клауса США и Канады в Нью-Йорке.
Продолжая разгадывать тайну Николая Чудотворца, невозможно обойти вниманием моряков. Они, как говорят, народ набожный. А святой Николай во все времена считался их покровителем. Одна из сцен фильма разворачивается на борту барка «Крузенштерн» в Калининграде.
Сразу несколько героев фильма живут в еще одном морском городе, итальянском Бари. Здесь в католической базилике почти тысячу лет хранятся мощи святого Николая. И именно отсюда в мае 2017 года часть святых мощей была отправлена в Россию. Это стало поворотным моментом в истории всего христианского мира. Для фильма было получено специальное разрешение на съемки. Зрители получили возможность увидеть уникальные кадры, которые не снимал никто.
Отправившись по следам славы Николая Угодника в России, съемочная группа оказалась в Нефтекамске. Гюзель Утяшевой был поставлен страшный диагноз, родить ребенка с таким невозможно. В отчаянье по совету подруги Гюзель решила обратиться к святому Николаю. Будучи мусульманкой, в храме она оказалась впервые. Как молиться? «А ты просто попроси у Чудотворца. От души...» — посоветовали ей. Ровно через месяц Гюзель узнала о своей беременности.
Одному из героев фильма – протоиерею Андрею Бойцову, настоятелю храма-подворья святителя Николая Чудотворца в Бари – итальянцы продолжают задавать один и тот же вопрос: почему россияне избрали своим самым главным святым покровителем того, кто ни разу не был в России? Их удивляет, что русские почитают святителя Николая больше, чем жители Бари. Настоятель считает, что это не россияне выбрали Николая Чудотворца, а он – Россию. Авторы фильма пытаются понять его феномен. Почему христианского святого у нас почитают и мусульмане, и буддисты? И почему он близок почти каждому?

Seit 20 Jahren werden gentechnisch veränderte Organismen (GVO) weltweit angebaut. Durch Manipulationen am Erbgut lässt sich insbesondere der Ertrag von Pflanzen steigern. Doch der Einsatz von Gentechnik in der Landwirtschaft ist weltweit stark umstritten. Umso aufgeheizter ist die Debatte; die Unterscheidung zwischen Fakten und pseudowissenschaftlichen Argumenten fällt zuweilen schwer. Was stimmt, was ist erfunden? Wo liegt die Wahrheit über die Grüne Gentechnik? Durch Gentechnik entwickeln Pflanzen eine höhere Resistenz gegen Insekten oder Herbizide wie Glyphosat. Doch auch die Schädlinge entwickeln eine Immunität gegen die Pestizide, und die Dosen müssen zur Beunruhigung von Gesundheitsexperten erhöht werden. Im Jahr 2015 wurde Glyphosat von der Weltgesundheitsorganisation als „wahrscheinlich krebserzeugend für den Menschen” eingestuft. Monsanto widersprach und berief sich auf eine deutsche Studie, die zwischen Krebs und Glyphosat keinen Zusammenhang fand. Trotzdem sorgen sich Verbraucher zunehmend um ihre Gesundheit, die Umwelt und das Übergreifen der GVO auf traditionelle Pflanzen. Um die Verbraucher zu beruhigen, entwickeln die Forscher nun gentechnisch veränderte Lebensmittel mit offensichtlichen Vorteilen – wie den Goldenen Reis, der mehr Vitamin A enthalten soll als seine natürlichen Verwandten. Ist Gentechnik nun ein Fluch oder ein Segen? Der Film, der in elf Ländern auf vier Kontinenten gedreht wurde, geht der Gentechnik und den damit verbundenen Fragestellungen auf den Grund und lässt Wissenschaftler, Landwirte, Lebensmittelhersteller und Züchter von genmanipulierten Pflanzen und Tieren zu Wort kommen.

Olympic National Park is an American national park located in the State of Washington, on the Olympic Peninsula. The park has four regions: the Pacific coastline, alpine areas, the west side temperate rainforest and the forests of the drier east side. Within the park there are three distinct ecosystems which are subalpine forest and wildflower meadow, temperate forest, and the rugged Pacific coast.
President Theodore Roosevelt originally designated Mount Olympus National Monument on 2 March 1909. The monument was redesignated as a national park by Congress and President Franklin Roosevelt on June 29, 1938. In 1976, Olympic National Park was designated by UNESCO as an International Biosphere Reserve, and in 1981 as a World Heritage Site. In 1988, Congress designated 95 percent of the park as the Olympic Wilderness.
Animals that inhabit this national park are chipmunks, squirrels, skunks, six species of bats, weasels, coyotes, muskrats, fishers, river otters, beavers, red foxes, mountain goats, martens, bobcats, black bears, Canadian lynxes, moles, snowshoe hares, shrews, and cougars. Whales, dolphins, sea lions, seals, and sea otters swim near this park offshore. Birds that fly in this park including raptors are Winter wrens, and Canada jays, Hammonds flycatchers, Wilsons warblers, Blue Grouses, Pine siskins, ravens, spotted owls, Red-breasted nuthatches, Golden-crowned kinglets, Chestnut-backed chickadees, Swainsons thrushes, Red crossbills, Hermit thrushes, Olive-sided flycatchers, bald eagles, Western tanagers, Northern pygmy owls, Townsends warblers, Townsends solitaires, Vauxs swifts, band-tailed pigeons, and evening grosbeaks.
In the warm Pacific just off the coast of Maui, a hump whale mother has paired and given birth to her baby. Now, the time has come, whereby she has to take her baby on a 5.500-kilometre-long journey to the grazing grounds off Alaska. The animal has already lost 30% of its weight, but she still has to constantly feed her calf.
Their destination is in Alaskas south, where the whale mother will hunt herrings with the other humpback whales. Together, they create so-called air nets and surround the herrings: This is known as bubble net feeding. Orcas go fishing here for herrings, too, but also hunt down whale calves.
Again and again, prior to each bubble net, one can hear the humpback whales singing. This is drowned out only by the sounds of thousands of seagulls that nest in the cliffs close by. Employing various tricks and much to the consternation of the humpback whales, puffins and northern sea lions attempt to benefit from the prey in the bubble net.
In the south of the bay, belugas have arrived at the salmon rivers, in order to hunt salmon. We manage to dive and capture them on camera.
In contrast to the humpbacks, they are extremely tame and enjoy con-tact with humans. A unique cat-and-mouse game begins.
Few places are as special and unique as Yellowstone National Park – the world’s first national park. A wilderness jewel of vast forests and wide-open valleys, home to large bison herds, wolf packs, and grizzly bears. It sits atop one of the world’s largest supervolcanoes, giving rise to such iconic geothermal features as Old Faithful geyser and the Grand Prismatic Spring.
